Safe Birth
Most maternal deaths in the districts we work in are preventable. They happen because a mother could not reach a health facility in time, or reached one that had no midwife on duty. Safe Birth closes that gap village by village.

What the programme actually does.
Four antenatal visits, tracked
Village health teams register every pregnancy in their catchment and follow up on missed visits by phone and on foot.
A birth kit and a ride
Each mother receives a clean delivery kit and a pre-paid boda transport voucher she can use the moment labour starts, day or night.
Midwife mentorship
We fund refresher training and basic equipment for midwives at the health centres our mothers deliver in, so the facility is ready when she arrives.
Postnatal follow-up
A health worker visits mother and baby at home three times in the first six weeks, when the risk of complications is highest.
$45 covers a birth kit, transport voucher and full antenatal follow-up for one mother.
